To better familiarize people with the special wedding customs, Li has organized exhibitions in local folk museums, consisting of articles involved in island wedding customs that come from nearly 200 private dowry collections.

Another inheritor Shu Xinhu has been dedicated to protecting and developing Shengsi fishermen's songs. Shu has revived more than 60 fishermen's songs and created over 40 songs in that vein over the past several years.

He also wrote academic papers and gave lectures to promote Shengsi fishermen's songs to more people in Zhoushan.
