Tangtou village in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province has transformed from a neglected mountain village into a popular tourist destination in recent years, local media reported on Nov 28.
A saying in Zhoushan goes that if one walks all the way east, he or she will end in Tangtou, and if they walk all the way west, they cannot go further than Wuqiu, which means that Tangtou is located to the easternmost of Zhoushan Island and Wuqiu to the westernmost.
Tangtou has long been considered a paradise, while its Buddha tea garden, which spans 500 mu (33.33 hectares), and its hosting of several editions of the China International Putuo Buddha Tea Cultural Festival have widely promoted the village.

Another Tangtou attraction is the Luomen-Tangtou road, or Luotang Road, which has been commonly seen in the WeChat moments of Zhoushan natives since last year.
Luotang Road is a great place to enjoy beautiful mountain and ocean views, go cycling, as well as admire wild flowers in the spring. Different from the planted flowers in parks, Luotang Road boasts a wide variety of wild flowers on both sides of it.
According to the person in charge of the village, Tangtou will rely on its mountain village landscape, coastal landscape, and Buddhist culture to further develop its rural tourism industry in the future.
