The Zhejiang Plastics Machinery Industry (Zhoushan-Middle East/South Asia) Online Exhibition was inaugurated on Nov 15.

The online exhibition, which is an important part of "Zhejiang Week" event during the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai, attracted 40 injection molding machine screw manufacturers in Zhoushan.

Held till Nov 19, the online exhibition promotes Zhoushan-made injection molding machine screws to more than 50 overseas purchasers via online negotiations and demonstrations.

In the first eight months of the year, the export value of the injection molding machine screw industry in Zhoushan reached 401 million yuan ($62.83 million), a year-on-year increase of 50.6 percent.

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the injection molding machine screw companies in the city are still faced with difficulties in expanding their overseas presence and retaining overseas customers.

The Middle East is the largest raw plastic material processing place in the world, accounting for 80 percent of the global market share, while India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in South Asia are among the countries boasting the fastest growth in the plastics machinery industry.

With the help of the Zhoushan trade promotion organization, the Zhejiang trade promotion organization and Zhoushan municipal government organized the exhibition to help local companies expand and secure more orders online.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in 2020, the Zhoushan trade promotion organization has been helping local injection molding machine screw manufacturers attend various exhibitions both online and offline.

Statistics show that these companies have inked intentional contracts worth more than $15 million.
