The China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone Agriculture Trade Forum, sponsored by the Zhoushan municipal government, was held in Shanghai on Nov 7.

The forum is one of the most important activities for Zhejiang province held during the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo.

With its focus on China's food security and agricultural trade, the forum is expected to improve Zhejiang's influence as an international agricultural trade center and boost the construction of the province into a demonstration zone for achieving common prosperity.

The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as the Zhoushan commerce bureau signed a framework agreement on the construction of an innovation base for agricultural trade during the forum.

The two sides will cooperate in the analysis of the trade situation of bulk agricultural products, the creation of agricultural product brands, and the promotion of agricultural companies.

At the forum, Zhoushan Good Ocean Grains and Oils Co Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding with US-based grain giant ADM, while Zhejiang Ocean Family Co Ltd signed purchasing agreements with three Norway-based companies for white shrimp and salmon.

Zhoushan National Distant Water Fishery Base, Zhoushan National Grain and Oil Industrial Park, and Zhoushan High-tech Industrial Park also made presentations during the forum.
