The 2021 Zhoushan E-commerce Talent Startup Innovation Competition concluded in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 19, local media reported.

The competition, sponsored by the talent office of the CPC Zhoushan Municipal Committee and the Zhoushan commerce bureau, is the first e-commerce startup competition in the city.

Thirteen startup teams stood out of the 21 participants in the city to enter the finals. Following rounds of roadshows, 10 projects won the final awards.

The Guanyin herbal jelly project from Zhoushan Shansufang Food Co Ltd received the first prize award, while the second prize award went to the seafood noodle project from Zhoushan Hepu Marine Biotechnology Co Ltd and the Chinese feast project from Zhejiang Henghe Food Co Ltd.

All of the winners have the opportunity to compete at a provincial competition.

The participating teams showcased their projects before the final. Hepu's stand was filled with seafood noodles of different flavors, Putuo vegetarian noodles, and smoked hairtail noodles.

Lang Mingzhou, a marketing staff member of Hepu, said that the company used to sell fresh seafood and frozen seafood noodles offline, adding that it started to promote its seafood noodles on e-commerce platforms this year.

"Compared with the previous frozen seafood noodles, it is more convenient to transport and store room-temperature instant seafood noodles," noted Lang. "The new products are very popular among our customers."
