Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province launched an intelligent parking management system, Qiandao Parking, in May to make parking more convenient for local residents.

To date, a total of 3,758 public parking spots in Xincheng, Dinghai, and Putuo districts have access to the system.

More than 100,000 users have registered with the system and over 60,000 vehicles have been bound to the system.

Statistics from the system showed that the parking spots on the road to the south of Laoqi Vegetable Market had the largest daily number of circulation in the last week with 19.58.

An official in charge of intelligent parking in Zhoushan said that this means that each parking spot on the road were shared by nearly 20 vehicles in a day.

Last week, the daily number of circulation of the 3,758 public parking spots reached 5.1, while the rate of users leaving the park spot in half an hour was about 72.36 percent, significantly increases from 1.7 and 10 percent, which were the figures before the system was implemented.

By the end of this month, an additional 2,469 public parking spots around the city will have access to the system, while 6,912 public parking spots will be constructed and have access to the system by the end of the year.
