Zhoushan area of Zhejiang FTZ sees stable development in H1

Statistics from the Zhoushan municipal statistics bureau show that the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone experienced stable development in the first half of the year.

Zhejiang FTZ's Zhoushan area added an additional 5,453 companies, a year-on-year increase of 59.4 percent, from January to June this year, accounting for 79.9 percent of the total new companies in Zhoushan.

The Zhoushan area offered 2.44 million metric tons of bunker oil, a year-on-year increase of 21.7 percent, in the first six months of the year. As of June, the Zhoushan area has been home to 17 bunker oil suppliers with 67 bunkering tankers.

During the same period, the Zhoushan area provided $1.48 billion worth of supplies for international ships, a year-on-year increase of 33.8 percent. It traded 3.33 billion yuan ($513.73 million) worth of ships, a year-on-year increase of 27.6 percent, and repaired 942 international ships, a 2.5 percent year-on-year increase.

The cross-border renminbi settlement amount in the Zhoushan area was 70.83 billion yuan in the Jan-June period, a 4.3 percent year-on-year increase.

The cargo throughput of ports in the area totaled 132.43 million tons in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent, accounting for 43.7 percent of the total amount in Zhoushan. The figure included 32.91 million tons of foreign trade cargo, a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent.
