Zhoushan launches emergency response to fight Typhoon In-Fa

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province upgraded its emergency response to Typhoon In-Fa, the sixth typhoon this year, to Level III at 1 pm on July 22, local media reported.

The center of Typhoon In-Fa was located in the Pacific Ocean, 800 kilometers away from Zhoushan, at 2 am on July 22. It will move westward at a speed of 10 km/h and gradually increase in strength.

On July 23, Typhoon In-Fa will move northwest and gradually approach coastal areas of Zhejiang. The typhoon is expected to make landfall at the coastal areas of north central Zhejiang or move north through the Zhoushan Archipelago.

The wind level in Zhoushan is expected to be at 10 on July 23 at night, with the level increasing to 12 to 14 on July 24. On July 24 and 25, there will be heavy rainstorms in the city.

From July 22 to 26, all ships operating between Putuo Mountain and other islands in Zhoushan will be suspended.

Daqingshan scenic area, Nansha scenic area, Wushitang scenic area, and Baishan Mountain scenic area on Zhujiajian Island were closed on July 22. Potential visitors must wait for further notice about their reopening time.

Daidong town also closed its Lulan Qingsha scenic area on July 22.
