The Port of Shanghai was the largest container port in 2020, handling containers with a capacity of 43.5 million 20-foot equivalent units, according to a report published by Statista Research Department.

Singapore came in second, followed by Ningbo-Zhoushan and Shenzhen.

Last year, nine out of the 10 busiest container ports were located in Asia, and seven came from China, the report said.
