The second phase of ENN liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving station in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province started trial operations on June 28, local media reported.

"The second phase will offer sufficient LNG to Zhejiang and East China cities during the upcoming peak season in the summer," said Wang Bin, deputy general manager of ENN (Zhoushan) LNG Co Ltd, manager of the LNG receiving station.

Currently, the two gasifiers at the second phase have started operations around the clock and deliver about 8 billion cubic meters of LNG per day.

In addition, the second phase also houses two 160,000 cubic meters of LNG storage tanks, one more gasifier, 14 loading facilities, as well as other supporting facilities that enable the first and second phases to be able to achieve synchronous operation.

The ENN LNG receiving station is the first of its kind operated by a private company in China and its first phase started operations in 2018.

To date, the first phase has delivered more than 5 million tons of LNG, becoming one of the main LNG sources in Zhejiang.

After the second phase starts official operations, the maximum storage at the ENN LNG receiving station will supply LNG to about 8.5 million households in Zhejiang for more than 40 days.
