Zhoushan Art Museum is exhibiting 100 paper-cutting works in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China until July 11, local media reported on June 27.

These pieces have been created by Chen Shiding, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage item Shengsi sea-themed paper cutting.

The work titled "Singing a Fisherman's Song for Our Party" attracted many exhibition attendees. Spanning 4.88 meters in length and 1.22 meters in height, the paper-cutting work depicts the CPC emblem over a red sun, as well as seafood, fishing boats, and flying sea gulls under the sunshine.

"I got the idea of creating the work since last Spring Festival," said the 80-year-old Chen who spent one month finishing the work.

According to Chen, he and his team prepared for more than one year for the exhibition to express their deep affection to the CPC and to their home country.
