The 2021 Zhoushan Putuo Waxberry Harvest Festival kicked off on June 24, attracting numerous local residents, Zhoushan Daily reported.

In addition to picking waxberries, participants also watched a hanfu show, as well as dance, song, and ballad performances.

Dengbu Island in Zhoushan has a 12-year history of planting waxberries. With their large size, plump pulp, and sweet taste, Dengbu-grown waxberries are especially popular among waxberry fans.

The picking time for Dengbu's waxberries can last until mid July.
