The industrial investment in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province increased 58.6 percent year-on-year in the first four months of the year, ranking first in the province, local media reported on June 5.
"The huge increase was mainly attributed to the major projects and investment in technological upgrading by leading companies," said a representative of Zhoushan's economic and information technology bureau.
Zhejiang Carbon Vision Technology Co invested 310 million yuan ($48.46 million) in constructing production lines for optoelectronic information new materials during this period.
Due to the transformation and upgrading of equipment, another company, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co, has built a 20,000-cubic meter liquefied natural gas transport and refilling ship, the largest in the world.
