Zhoushan Customs has implemented measures to facilitate customs clearance in recent years in an effort to contribute to the development of Dapukou terminal and the construction of a world-class Ningbo Zhoushan Port, local media reported on May 26.

Both paperless and appointment customs clearances are available at Zhoushan Port, while the time required for a single ship entering and leaving Zhoushan Port has been reduced by 80 percent.

Wang Lidan, head of Zhoushan Yongzhou Container Terminal Co, said that the efficient customs clearance is helpful to Dapukou's participation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Currently, the terminal has launched 16 international container shipping routes along the countries involved in the BRI.

She added that in the first quarter of the year, Zhoushan Customs supervised 200,000 containers at Dapukou terminal, a year-on-year increase of 39.4 percent.
