Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province organized 12 local tea companies to attend the 4th China International Tea Expo, which was held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, from May 21 to 25, local media reported.

The Zhoushan pavilion at the expo showcased Putuo Buddha tea, as well as the local Buddhist culture and marine culture, according to the Zhoushan delegation's organizer, the Zhoushan high-quality agricultural products development and service center.

On the first day of the expo, Putuo Buddha tea attracted numerous tea merchants and guests with its unique aroma and good taste. In addition, the deputy head of Putuo district promoted the specialty online and invited fans of tea to taste the Buddha tea in the district.

Zhoushan's history of tea planting can be dated back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). With its fertile soil, clean air, and great natural environment, Zhoushan-grown tea leaves boast high quality.

In recent years, the city has stepped up efforts to build the regional public brand "Putuo Buddha tea," while a full industrial chain featuring tea gardens and tea processing factories, as well as tea processing zones has taken shape in the city.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the tea expo had an exhibition area of 70,000 square meters. It attracted more than 1,500 exhibitors to display the achievements made by the tea industry in the country, as well as showcase new species, latest technologies, and new types of business in the industry.
