Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province is expected to have a more favorable business environment in the near future, local media reported on May 10.

The city was listed among places with remarkable achievements in reforming business systems and implementing supervision measures, according to a notice from the General Office of the State Council.

The notice states that preferences will be given to these places for piloting reforms in business registration, enterprise annual report system, and data regulation. They will also be granted the right to register foreign-invested companies this year.

Due to the "At Most One Visit" reform and upgraded services, Zhoushan has improved its business environment in recent years.

In the first quarter of this year, the city was home to another 3,349 companies, a year-on-year increase of 117.19 percent, 2,730 of which were registered in the Zhoushan area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
