The China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province has grown into the largest oil and gas storage base in the country, local media reported on April 13.
Zhoushan's storage and transportation capacity in oil and gas amounted to 32.3 million cubic meters, accounting for one fourth of the national total and capable of ensuring 12 days of oil supply around the country.
The oil depot on Aoshan Island in Zhoushan delivered 30.77 million metric tons of oil products last year, which included 2.37 million tons of bonded bunker oil supply, twice the amount from four years ago and making up more than half of the total amount in Zhejiang FTZ.
Since it began operation in 2018, the Xin'ao Zhoushan Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Receiving Station has received 70 LNG ships carrying 4.48 million tons of LNG, becoming one of the eight LNG sources in Zhejiang and accounting for over 40 percent of the provincial demand.
About 300 tank cars, each loaded with 21 tons of LNG, depart from the receiving station per day for cities in East China.
