Zhoushan sets new targets for talent attraction

Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has set new targets for talent attraction this year, local media reported on April 7.

The city will introduce at least 16,000 university graduates, no less than 60 innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and at least 80 people or groups will be shortlisted for the municipal-level high-level talent program this year.

These talents are expected to be adept in computer games, livestreaming, free trade economy, marine science and technology. The city expects to introduce at least 130 talents with a doctoral degree and more than 200 foreign experts.

To achieve its goals, the city will organize 300 major local companies to launch job fairs at 30 universities around the country this year.

In addition, Zhoushan will build three or more collaborative innovation centers for intelligent ocean industry engineers and more than 10 postdoctoral centers and enterprise institutes.

The city will promote the construction of the Medical Security Big Data and Policy Research Center of Zhejiang University, Ningbo-Zhoushan (Daishan) New Materials Institute and the Zhoushan branch of the Laser Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology this year.

Zhoushan will also advance its cooperation with Ningbo, Zhejiang province, in talent attraction and resource sharing this year. The two sides will organize at least five recruitment events, build at least 20 experts studios, and dispatch no less than 100 teachers and medical experts to one another.

Zhoushan will also formulate and upgrade its policies for graduates starting businesses in the city and improve its subsidies for home purchases by talents.
