Dongfushan Island in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province is famous for its numerous stone buildings.

These buildings were established by local residents to resist typhoons, with most of them being vacant now. Besides the stone buildings, the roads on the island are also paved by stones.

Homestay operators have been attracted by the rustic scenery on Dongfushan Island and have come to transform these abandoned stone buildings into comfortable homestays, adding modern elements to the ancient island.

Pandora is one such homestay, which can be easily spotted among numerous stone buildings. Standing high up besides a road along the sea, lodgers can admire the beautiful sea view on their balcony while feeling the gentle sea breeze.

Huiting is another homestay on the island, which reserves the original stone walls to give people a sense of returning to the original simple living environment.

How to get to Dongfushan Island?

Take a boat at Shenjiamen Port to Miaozihu Island and then transfer to another boat for Dongfushan Island.
