The first ever mobile fever clinic in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, began operating on March 1, local media reported.

The clinic is located at the Zhoushan Hospital and consists of 18 white containers with a sterile area, a buffer zone, a contaminated area, and respective passages for medical workers and patients.

According to an employee at the Zhoushan Hospital, the mobile clinic has a registration area, a charging area, a pharmacy, a waiting room, a consulting room, a treatment room, an emergency room, and a radiology department.

If COVID-19 cases are confirmed, patients can be transferred to the isolation room from an independent passage, the employee added.

Fever patients no longer need to enter the hospital lobby and a closed-loop medical procedure can be carried out at the mobile clinic to reduce the risk of cross infection during diagnosis and treatment procedures.

The mobile clinic can accommodate up to 30 patients at once, and as of March 3, it had received 36 patients.
