The maritime service industry of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone generated nearly 27 billion yuan ($4.17 billion) in output last year, local media reported on Feb 20.

The FTZ offered more than 4.72 million metric tons of bonded bunker oil, a year-on-year increase of 15.14 percent, and more than $2.4 billion in supplies for international ships, a 9.12 percent increase year-on-year.

The output of the FTZ's international ship repair industry surged nearly 20 percent year-on-year to 5.3 billion yuan, while its ship transaction volume grew 14 percent year-on-year to 5.2 billion yuan in the same year.

All of these achievements are largely due to the construction of an international bunker oil supply center in the zone.

In 2020, Zhoushan introduced 103 maritime service companies, bringing its total number to 255.

The city has also improved its supporting facilities as the Tiaozhoumen anchorage ground began operating, the Huangzeshan oil depot obtained bonded qualification, and an upgraded intelligent control system for bunker oil was launched.

The customs clearance efficiency of Zhoushan's ports continued to lead the country last year, and customs clearance time in the city was reduced from one hour to five minutes as more than 80 percent of previously required data was no longer required.
