Deputies to the 7th Zhoushan Municipal People's Congress spoke highly of the government work report given by the mayor at the sixth session, which began in the city on Feb 3, local media reported.

They agreed that the work report comprehensively summarizes Zhoushan's main achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20) and sets practical goals for its economic and social development over the next five years.

According to the report, the Zhoushan government will work to further improve the quality of the city.

Deputy Zhang Haibin agreed with the plan, saying that Putuo district will focus on the transformation of its western areas by renovating "villages" in downtown areas and manufacturing companies, improving infrastructure, and constructing future communities.

He also expressed hope that the municipal government will increase support for the development of western Putuo.

Meanwhile, Deputy Lin Min proposed improving the sewage system. He suggested the government establish a unified geographical information system for sewage pipes in the city and organize a professional team to manage and maintain the pipes.
