Zhoushan sees 9.2% annual GDP growth during 13th Five-Year Plan

The average annual GDP growth of Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) period was 9.2 percent, 2.7 percentage points higher than the provincial average, local media reported on Jan 31.

The added value of industries above designated size in the city reported an average annual growth of 24.8 percent during the same period, 18 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

Over the past five years, private investment in Zhoushan recorded an average annual increase of 12.4 percent, 4 percentage points higher than the provincial average, while that of general financial revenue was 9.7 percent, 2.2 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

The city was ranked third in the province in per capital GDP with 12,700 yuan ($1,973) in 2020, 46,000 yuan more than in 2015.

Zhoushan's online retail sales reported an average annual increase of 54.1 percent during the Five-Year Plan period, 29.7 percentage points higher than the provincial average, while the average annual growth of its actual utilization of foreign investment was 70.7 percentage points higher than the provincial average with 77.2 percent during the same period.

Moreover, the income ratio of urban to rural residents in the city was 1.63 in 2020, 0.1 percentage points lower than in 2015.

The per capital park green areas in Zhoushan was ranked second in the province and its air quality remained among the top three in China over the past three years.
