Seventeen members of the 12th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC) of Zhejiang Province submitted 25 suggestions to the fourth session of the 12th CPPCC of Zhejiang Province held on Jan 25 in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang.

Cheng Jihong, professor at Zhejiang Ocean University, made several suggestions this year about the research and application of cell technology in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the development of modern aquaculture, and the construction of the fifth maritime poetry road in Zhejiang.

"Zhejiang is currently building a Tang Dynasty (618-907) poetry road in eastern Zhejiang and other poetry roads along the Grand Canal, Qiantang River, and Oujiang River," said Cheng, "Many poems were also created in Zhoushan and Ningbo."

According to his research, more than 1,500 historical poems are related to Zhoushan, which is rare among islands in China and makes Zhoushan worthy of the title "Island of Chinese Poetry".

The development of the Zhejiang FTZ is of great concern to Zhoushan political advisors, who suggested that the FTZ should further integrate into the Yangtze River Delta and focus on the development of the cruise industry. They also urged the local government to provide the FTZ with more reliable land utilization guarantees.

In addition, they are concerned about living standards in Zhoushan and hope that residents will be provided with clean drinking water as soon as possible.
