Guanyin pastry, or Avalokitesvara pastry, is a low-sugar snack with sea sedge, black sesame, peanuts and sweetened bean paste as its fillings. The snack has a crispy and golden yellow crust and tastes soft and waxy.

The snack is named after a legend about Avalokitesvara who relieved people from drought.

As its name suggests, Wojingtan hard cake has a hard texture, but this what makes it crispy. There are usually more than 10 procedures required to make the hard cake, including stir-frying ingredients, grinding, steaming, baking, drying, and packaging.

This snack is sometimes referred to as "edible stones".
