Intelligent manufacturing has contributed to the high-quality development of the International Grain and Oil Industrial Park in Zhoushan, East China’s Zhejiang province, according to a statement by the management committee of the park on Dec 3.
The industrial park processed 1.55 million metric tons of grain and oil in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 79.9 percent, and saw 4.49 billion yuan ($687.38 million) in domestic trade, a year-on-year increase of 104.6 percent.
"The industrial park has invested roughly 500 million yuan over the past three years upgrading the facilities of its companies," said an employee at the International Grain and Oil Industrial Park.
Zhoushan Good Ocean Grains & Oils Co, located in the industrial park, has benefited from these upgrades, as there is now only one worker on duty at the master control center and three other workers in the workshops.
Zhou Xianquan, production manager of Good Ocean Grains & Oils, said that the condition of all the company's facilities can be viewed at the control center, and the daily production capacity of the automatic soybean production line can reach up to 4,000 tons.
From January to October, the company processed 682,800 tons of soybeans, a year-on-year increase of 42.1 percent.
According to Zhou, the company currently has eight silos with a total storage capacity of 120,000 tons and is in the process of building six more.
The industrial park has also established a 3-kilometer fully enclosed conveyor belt to keep grain and oil products out of the rain and introduced intelligent systems to help its companies control the temperature and humidity of their grain.
