Articles about fighting COVID-19 by three international students in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, were recently chosen for a solicitation event organized by the China Scholarship Council, local media reported on Nov 4.

The three articles were written by international students from Russia, Tanzania, and Pakistan and told from a severe outbreak of the epidemic in Zhoushan.

Although the Pakistani student has now finished his studies in Zhoushan and returned to his home country, he was still excited about his article being selected by CSC.

"China has always been cherished in my heart," he said, adding that if he has the chance, he wants to obtain his doctoral degree in China.

Another of the authors is currently serving as director of a company's development department in Rwanda. He was previously the president of the International Student Union at Zhejiang Ocean University.

He said that the beginning of this year was a very special time and he did his best to comfort other international students, take their temperatures and report their health conditions to teachers every day.

"This proved to be a good form of preparation for a decent job in Rwanda," he added.

The CSC received 693 submissions from 166 universities in China, including 561 submissions from international students from 108 countries, among which 177 were ultimately chosen.
