"Zhousanxian", a public agricultural product brand in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, made its debut at the 2020 Zhejiang Agriculture Expo, which is being held in Hangzhou, the provincial capital, from Nov 20 to 24, local media reported.

"Zhousanxian" has a similar pronunciation to "Zhoushanxian", referring to the high-quality fishing and agricultural products grown in Zhoushan.

Seventeen companies from Zhoushan showcased nearly 100 kinds of fishery and agricultural products carrying the "Zhousanxian" label, as well as a large number of geographical indication products, at the expo's 800-square meter Zhoushan pavilion.

The main exhibition area at the Zhoushan pavilion displayed the achievements of the city's distant-water fishery.

Zhejiang Ocean Family Co Ltd, a leading distant-water fishery company which has participated in the expo since 2012, demonstrated its new products at the main exhibition area, including long-finned tuna, in an attempt to expand its market.

According to a staff member from the company, long-finned tuna is a special species of tuna whose steak is eaten in a similar way to beef steak. It currently enjoys strong popularity on Fresh Hema, Tmall and JD.

The company also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hangzhou Lianhua Huashang Group Co Ltd, the largest chain business in Zhejiang, to promote the "Zhousanxian" brand in Hangzhou.

Zhoushan also set up an exhibition area this year for its districts and counties to showcase their achievements in rural revitalization through a variety of photos, words, and objects.

The offline 2020 Zhejiang Agriculture Expo, with an exhibition area of 30,000 sq m, attracted nearly 900 exhibitors, while a total of 1,137 agricultural businesses showcased their products on the online 2020 Zhejiang Agriculture Expo platform.
