Construction recently began on Xiaxin future community in Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported on Nov 14.

Xiaxin future community has a planned floor area of 520,000 square meters and a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan ($686.3 million). The construction is expected to be completed in three years' time.

The future community will allow community affairs to be managed digitally by establishing a digital platform on which local residents can enjoy home-based healthcare, remote education, and other services.

Xiaxin future community is part of the West Putuo Future Smart City, which will include a beauty and health industrial park, digital industrial park, business zone for ocean industry-based companies, marine biotechnology park, and a recreational zone.

The beauty and health industrial park will focus on cosmetics and cosmetic medicine by developing high-end cosmetics from marine flora and creating cosmetic medicine brands with characteristics unique to Zhoushan.

The West Putuo Future Smart City will also improve the existing Puxi Industrial Park, Marine Biological Park, and Pingyang Industrial Park as well as introduce more high-tech industrial parks and high-end business parks.
