Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has been making efforts to improve its business environment over the past year, local media reported.

It has developed a digital port by improving its "single window" system for international trade, introducing paperless customs clearance, and establishing a big data platform that has shared more than 800,000 pieces of information with the port supervision department, pilotage department, logistics companies, and ports in Zhoushan.

The city has also shared real-time data with Ningbo, Zhejiang and Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu to reduce the time needed for ships to pass through customs from over one hour to just five minutes.

The city has also implemented a "two-step declaration" reform to shorten the time needed for cargo to pass through customs from four hours to just a few minutes.

In addition to bonded oil refueling, Zhoushan Port is also capable of offering a complete set of maritime services to international ships at a single berth, increasing the speed of customs clearance at Zhoushan Port from three days to just 25.5 hours.
