The Putuo Tianyi Nursing Home in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, was listed as a national pilot agency for the combination of medical treatment with nursing and remote services, local media reported on Sept 9.

It is the first nursing home in Zhoushan to combine medical treatment with nursing, and it is equipped with 400 beds, more than 70 percent of which are for seniors requiring medical care.

Six nursing institutions for the elderly in Putuo district have signed cooperation agreements with medical institutions, and 11 towns, subdistricts, and their management committees have joined the telemedicine network in Zhoushan and Putuo.

The district will take the pilot project as an opportunity to accelerate the development of a remote service platform in order to offer more remote diagnosis and treatment services, online visits, and prescriptions to more seniors at nursing homes.
