An online meeting was held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, on Aug 27 to explore maritime cooperation between companies in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Zhejiang-Singapore Economic and Trade Council, local media reported.
Representative companies from the two sides shared their achievements in ocean robots, customs clearance enabled by artificial intelligence technologies, and maritime drones.
According to Ding Tao from the Zhoushan International Maritime Service Base, Zhoushan is working to improve its maritime services according to Singapore's standards.
Ding said that they want to improve maritime services in Zhoushan to attract more Singaporean companies to operate in the city and also learn from their advanced service principles and technologies via the online meeting.
Analysis from the ship Automatic Identification System (AIS) shows that about 107,000 international ships pass by Zhoushan Port and its surrounding waters each year, making Zhoushan an ideal place to develop maritime services.
At present, Zhoushan is improving its anchor grounds, working ships, and customs clearance conditions for ships to attract passing ships to seek services in Zhoushan.
