A cruise known as New Puji embarked on maiden voyage from Shuangyang pier in the New City of Zhoushan, an island city in East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 21, local media reported.

Carrying more than 100 tourists, the cruise traveled along the Zhoushan, Changzhi, Danzig, and Xiaogan islands. During the tour, Gangdao Bridge, which has become famous online, was the most popular place for visitors to take photos.

A visitor surnamed Zhang from Beijing said that he used to take pictures of the bridge from far away, but the cruise gives him the chance to admire it from up close. Zhang added that he will bring more friends with him to enjoy the night cruise in Zhoushan.

In addition to scenic views, singers were invited to perform for visitors, cultural creative products were showcased and offered for purchase, and visitors can mail postcards on the cruise.

A staff member from Haixing Shipping Co Ltd, operator of the cruise, said that they also plan to host weddings on the sea and organize night group tours to offer local residents and tourists more entertainment options at night.

Moreover, in order to make the night tour in Zhoushan even better, a Buddhism-themed night tour will soon be launched on Putuo Mountain.
