Zhejiang FTZ sees rapid growth in enterprise registration in H1

China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan reported 3,442 newly registered enterprises from January to June, edging up 1.81 percent year-on-year, official data show. 

The number of newly registered companies in the FTZ accounted for 75.71 percent of the city's total over the six-month period. Among them, 31 were foreign-funded, an increase of 24 percent year-on-year. 

The newly registered enterprises in the zone were still primarily engaged in the oil processing and trading industry. The number stood at 1,119, making up 35.04 percent of the total in the zone.

By the end of June, the number of newly established enterprises and those which have renewed their business licenses in the FTZ had reached 21,855, with a registered capital of 663.01 billion yuan ($96.08 billion). 

In terms of regional distribution, the top three destinations for new entities were the Zhoushan Outlying Islands Area (14,607) and the Putuo (3,469) and New City sections (3,251) of the Southern Zhoushan Island Area.
