A 300,000-tonnage oil tanker named Yuantenghu recently berthed at the Huangzeshan port in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

Measuring 330 meters in length, 60 meters in width, and 33 meters in height, the vessel is the largest ever to dock at the Huangzeshan port and indicates that the port will begin operating soon, said a head official from the Zhoushan municipal navigation and port administrative bureau.

Huangzeshan Island is located in northeastern Daishan county. It has a land area of 2.53 square kilometers and a coastline of 15.74 kilometers. The port on the island is the only port designed for oil storage and transportation in northern Zhoushan and is an integral part of the Zhejiang FTZ oil storage and transportation base.

The port now accommodates a 300,000-ton berth, an 80,000-ton berth, two 10,000-ton berths, and facilities such as storage tanks for crude oil and refined oil products.

Official data show that the throughput of oil and natural gas surpassed 61 million metric tons in Zhoushan in the first half of this year, a yearly uptick of 54.19 percent.
