Tourism showed strong signs of recovery in Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday which ended on June 27.
Attractions around the city received a total of 366,900 visitors during the three-day holiday from June 25 to June 27, a decrease of 16.82 percent over last year.
Tourism-related revenue over the holiday totaled 464.4473 million yuan ($67.3 million)-about 12.59 percent less than in 2019.
Though the result is below that of the same period last year, it is much higher than the numbers seen during the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday in April.
Visitors to the city during the holiday were primarily from Ningbo, Wengzhou, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, and other cities in the Yangtze River Delta region.
On June 2, Putuo Mountain, a popular tourism destination in the city, reopened to the public after a short-term suspension due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The scenic attraction received 63,300 visitors over the holiday, down 30.67 percent year-on-year.
Sea island tours were still among the top choices for visitors.
Visitors to islands such as Dongji, Taohua, Baisha and Liuheng totaled 154,600 during the holiday, an uptick of nearly 30 percent year-on-year.
