Putuo reduces time needed for fish boat trading

Updated : 2020-06-03 (chinadaily.com.cn)

The fish boat trading process has been streamlined in Putuo district, Zhoushan, according to local media reports.

The time required to trade a fish boat in the district has been shortened from 20 to just three workdays. This doesn't include time needed for the provincial and municipal fishery departments to examine and approve the transaction or for on-site inspections by local ship inspection departments.

Starting in April, an official will be dispatched to assist the buyer and seller with administrative procedures, according to a head official from the Putuo district marine and fishery bureau.

In addition to dispatching special personnel, the local marine and fishery bureau has also significantly reduced the number of application materials needed to trade fishing vessels within its jurisdiction.

Official data shows that more than 200 fishing boats are traded per year. Since the launch of the reform, five applications have been received, among which three have been completed.
