An entrepreneurship competition for projects related to advanced manufacturing, ecofriendly petrochemicals, and marine life was launched in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 8.

The contest, now in its fourth year, will be primarily composed of two parts: preliminaries and finals.

The organizers will solicit projects from around the world from May to August.

The preliminaries will be held in 10 cities in the country's three major city clusters, namely the Yangtze River Delta region, the Pearl River Delta region, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, from June to September.

The final is scheduled to be held in November, and the top winners receive five million yuan in prize money. Their projects will also be included in the 5313 Plan, an initiative launched by the local government to attract global talent.

Since its inception in 2017, the competition has developed into the nation's largest entrepreneurship competition themed around the marine economy. Last year, it received more than 1,000 entries from across the world.
