Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has remained dedicated to improving its city governance capabilities.

Since the foundation of the Putuo service center in 2017, the center has coordinated 15 relevant departments to jointly deal with the disputes between residents.

It has solved more than 100,000 disputes since its foundation, and the center was recognized by the Political and Judiciary Commission under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a research base on application of big data in grassroots-level governance.

Zhoushao also founded a special social organization with more than 60 percent of its members being female. The organization played an important role in raising awareness of safety among residents, promoting the anti-drug awareness and helping with the fight against the epidemic.

Lou Shifeng, deputy director of the Zhouhsan health commission, said that the city will give a special focus on improving its emergency response mechanism after the novel coronavirus crisis ends.

The city will also be working on streamlining the administrative procedures and promoting the "at-most-one visit" reform.
