Liuheng to spend large sum attracting talent

Updated : 2020-05-06 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Liuheng town in Putuo district, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province plans to spend nearly 20 million yuan ($2.83 million) subsidizing skilled workers who moved to the town this year, with 13 million yuan to be given to those working at local companies, schools, and hospitals.

The town launched several measures to attract and nurture talent last July and announced eight categories of talent eligible for the subsidies.

Two hundred eighty-seven skilled workers in the town are eligible. They mainly specialize in shipbuilding, new energy, port logistics, marine engineering, modern services and agriculture, and more.

"We hope these measures will help us attract and retain more talent," said a town official.

"Over the past two years, we have shared Liuheng's talent incentive measures with every job applicant during recruitment events," said Liu Hongtao, HR manager of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Zhoushan, who added that the measures had been effective in helping the company attract talent.
