Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province announced 12 tasks in 2020 to improve the well-being of local residents at the third plenary meeting of the fifth session of the Seventh Zhoushan Municipal People's Congress held on April 23.

The city will renovate 29 clinics in rural, standardizing more than 50 percent of rural clinics in the city. Buildings, medical facilities and remote medical equipment will be renovated or replaced.

The city plans to construct 11 township or sub district home care service centers, repair 30 kilometers of rural roads, and help 93,000 fishermen and farmers gain access to clean drinking water.

Twenty vaccination clinics will be upgraded and transformed into intelligent clinics featuring safe and traceable vaccines and supervision.

Construction on four wharfs will be completed, and another four public passenger ships will be added.

Renovations on the internal drainage networks of 62 residential communities will be conducted to separate the discharge of rainwater and sewage and prevent sanitary sewage from flowing into rivers.

Th city will enlarge three reservoirs, manage rivers in three local areas, construct 1,490 apartments for residents in rundown urban areas as well as five disabled people centers, and help 900 people with disabilities to hear, see and walk.

Renovation and expansion of three local high schools will be completed, and 25 provincial-level role model residential communities in household garbage classification will be developed.
