4th CPPCC Zhoushan committee concludes

The Fourth Session of the Seventh Zhoushan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded in the city of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on April 22, local media reported.

During the three-day session, election results for new leadership were announced and a conference resolution was passed.

Wang Wei was elected chairman of the seventh Zhoushan Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Gan Songzhang and Dong Wenping were elected as vice-chairmen, and Wu Jianxin, Shen Dongbo, Zhou Ming, and Cao Hong were elected as standing committee members.

Yu Donglai, Party secretary of Zhoushan, praised the successful session and congratulated the newly-elected leadership.

Yu said that Zhoushan has seen remarkable progress in its economic development and opening-up to the outside world over the past year and it would not have been possible without the help of CPPCC organizations and members.

He added that the municipal Party committee will continue to value and support the municipal committee of the CPPCC and urged government departments to accept the democratic supervision of the municipal committee of the CPPCC and create a favorable working environment for CPPCC organizations and members.
