Updated : 2020-04-21 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Daishan county in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, has attracted 13 petrochemical companies with total registered capital of 16.8 billion yuan ($2.38 billion) over the past three years.

The county houses part of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and is building an eco-friendly petrochemical base and a new-materials industrial park.

"We came here because we believe that Daishan has bright economic prospects, and offers sound facilities and public services," said a manager of Zhejiang Dingsheng Petrochemical Engineering Co, adding that the local government also gives a lot of support for employees to settle in the county, such as helping their children attend local schools.

The county has also attracted investment from international oil and gas companies by holding various forums in recent years.
