The China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has attracted more than 18,000 skilled workers involved in the oil and gas industries since it was established three years ago.
The workers, who specialize in oil and gas transportation, processing, trade, maritime business, international finance, and more, have been playing an important role in the building of an oil and gas industrial chain in the zone, according to local authorities.
Zhoushan has been taking a number of measures in recent years to attract and train workers to boost its marine industry. The measures include cooperating with nearby Ningbo to cultivate skilled workers and setting up industrial parks in other cities to attract entrepreneurs.
"We will continue to improve public services and introduce more favorable policies to retain talent," said one local official.
