A public cleaning activity was held in Shengsi county in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province on April 13 by the CPC Shengsi Committee and the Shengsi Government. More than 10,000 volunteers from throughout the county participated.

They offered local residents free haircuts, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, and poison for killing rats and cockroaches.

They also helped the police coordinate road traffic and reminded people to observe traffic rules.

They also rode bicycles down the street carrying a board saying things like "Don't litter" and "Help each other" to promote civil behavior among the public.
