Putuo district in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province recently launched a series of favorable policies to attract college graduates, including easing restrictions on taking up residence in the city, providing more housing, increasing subsidies and improving professional title assessments.

College graduates who are working their first job in Putuo are eligible to receive employment subsidies for two consecutive years during the contract duration, as long as they graduated within the last five years.

College graduates can apply for public rental housing with their employment contract and enjoy three months of free rent. Some of them can even enjoy subsidies of 100,000 yuan ($14,160) if they buy a home.

The district has released a number of measures to attract talent in recent years. It has granted subsidies of 325,300 yuan to 63 college graduate entrepreneurs this year alone, and has granted subsidies of 280,000 yuan to 102 college graduates who have come to work in the district.
