More than 60 community workers and grassroots cadres who fought on the frontlines against the COVID-19 outbreak in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province arrived at the Shengsi Islands on March 25 for a four-day vocation.

They will visit three islands during their trip and be guided by the administrative chiefs of three local towns.

The Shengsi Islands are the only island scenic area in China and boast some beautiful scenery.

The islands began offering various perks and discounts in early March to attract visitors, such as giving away free tickets to medics from Zhejiang and Shanghai who had been dispatched to Hubei province to assist in epidemic control efforts and offering discounts on steamer tickets for all medics in China.

Shengsi also plans to carry out a series of marketing activities in April, including holding promotional meetings in Shanghai and Nanjing, attracting visitors to local hotels and homestay inns by offering them free tickets to scenic spots, and inviting online celebrities to come promote Shengsi to young consumers online.

In addition, Shengsi will strengthen cooperation with online ticket booking and food delivery platforms such as Ctrip and Meituan in an effort to provide better services to tourists.
