Over 95 percent of express delivery companies have resumed operations in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, since the first batch of such companies resumed on Feb 16, according to the city's postal administration.

Officials said that among more than 40,000 daily deliveries, more than half are daily necessities, and only a small number are clothes and bags.

"After our company resumed work, what my colleagues and I usually delivered were daily necessities, including food, drinks and toilet paper," said a local carrier. "In recent days, I made over 100 deliveries every day."

A local woman surnamed Wang said: "Since the beginning of March, I have placed over 10 orders through e-commerce platforms."
