Zhoushan IMC-Yongyue Shipyard and Engineering Co repaired more than 10 vessels during the Spring Festival holiday, according to journalists who visited the company on Feb 5.

The company is a Sino-foreign joint venture funded by IMC Pan Asia Alliance Group, Zhejiang Yongyue Shipping Group and Zhejiang Haizhongzhou Group.

"The vessels were received during the holiday included bulk cargo ships and container ships, which came from Russia, Norway, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands," said Wan Xihai, deputy general manager of the company.

According to Wan, the company organized over 1,000 workers who didn't leave the area during holiday to repair the vessels. To ensure the safety and health of the workers and prevent them from catching the novel coronavirus, the company is carrying out regular inspections and disinfection.

"I've always returned to my hometown in Shandong province to spend the Spring Festival holiday," said Wang Zhigang, a manager at the company. "However, our company is busy this year, so I decided to stay and only called my parents on my mobile phone."

Pavel, a Russian representative of shipowners who sent their vessels to be repaired at the company, said: "The ship repair teams at the company are very professional. I'm happy with their work."
