Annual airport passenger throughput in Zhoushan surpasses 1.5 million

The passenger throughput of Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province amounted to over 1.5 million in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 25.8 percent, according to official data released recently.

The airport's throughput currently ranks in the top 40 percent of airports in China.

In recent years, the city has attracted and promoted many national-level key projects, boosting the development of China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and held a number of international conferences, including the 2019 International Islands Tourism Conference and the 3rd International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference.

Thanks the city's efforts in economic development and the improvement of its popularity and influence in the country and even the world, the growth rate of passenger throughput at the airport has remained over 20 percent, according to an employee at the airport.

"Since being established in 2014, our airport has been dedicated to providing better services to passengers," the employee said. "In 2017, the annual throughput of the airport first exceeded 1 million people. To date, the passenger satisfaction rate has reached 92 percent."

The airport now cooperates with more than 10 airlines, including China Eastern Air Holding Company and Shenzhen Airlines Co Ltd, and operates a total of 14 air routes, enabling passengers to travel to 19 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
